A concert band is sometimes called a wind band, or more grandiosely a symphonic band.
It comprises of woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. Though not all bands have all possible combinations. Ensembles of wind players have a long and distinguished history including military and marching bands. The modern concert band aims to perform a range of light orchestral music in a concert setting.
Our own band includes:
Flutes, Piccolos, Oboes, Bassoon, Bb Clarinets, Bass Clarinets, Tenor Saxophones, Alto Saxophones, Baritone Saxophones, Trumpets, Cornets, Trombones, French horns, Euphonium, Tuba/Bass
Our creative percussion section includes a whole gamut of both tuned and un-tuned instruments which provide a range of special effects providing rhythm and colour to the ensemble. Including:
Glockenspiel, Xylophone, Drums, Timpani, Crash cymbals, Wood block, Sleigh Bell, Cabassa, Gong, Wind Chimes plus many more!

The Objectives of the band are:
- To develop and enrich the musical education and skills of the members and the community;
- To perform works of high musical quality and present a repertoire with wide appeal;
- To support and satisfy a variety of community sponsored events, and develop a performance band that is an asset to the local community.
